Electricity

I will be writing about electricity since it is the subject I will be learning about in my HVAC class for this semester. I will be exposing what the genearation, distribution, and usage of electricity is. I will be trying to help my readers get a better understanding of the process of generating and distributing electricity.

  1. I already know that electricity is distributed to homes and other buildings through power lines and used for computers, televisions, other electronics, and utilities such as refrigerators and dishwashers.

  2. I will be searching what the generation, distribution, and usage of electricity is. For the generation and distribution of electricity, I will go into detail what generators and distributors and their different parts are. For my last paragraph, I will be writing about what the usage of electricity is and may even give examples what the usage is for some utilities.

  3. I have done some research and found 12 sites that I will be getting my information from. I am not sure how many more sites I will visit though. A few of the sites I have now will only give me a little bit of helpful information while some of the others may give me plenty. I will start writing my draft with what I have and if I need more information, I will do more research. I will most likely not answer my questions about the different parts of generators and distributors, but I have answered all my other questions.

  4. I have completed researching my topic.

  5. I am primarily focusing on what the power grid is and consists of, what generators are and the process that defines them, what distributors and the way electricity is distributed that defines the distribution process, and what the usage of electricity is.

  6. My Thesis: An electrical grid consists of generators, distributors, and the usage of electricity.
    My Topic Sentences:
Electricity must be generated before it can be distributed.

Electricity is distributed to homes and other buildings by the use of power lines, transformers, and substations.

Electricity is used in a home or other building after it has gone through the generation and distribution process.

  8. I have finished my first draft and posted it as another blog. I have included all the relevant points and identified my sources throughout my essay. I have not worked on the works cited list though. I did, however, change my thesis and a couple, if not all, of my topic sentences. It should be relatively easy to find my first draft since the name of that blog is "My First Draft".

  9. I have finished my second and final draft. Once again, I made a new post for it since it would not be able to fit as a comment. I have finished the works cited list (at least for how I remember doing it, which is not that much), but it is messed up on the new post. I have finished my transitions. All, except for possibly my last one, show how my ideas relate. At least, I believe they do, and I will not know how good my transitions are until my essay is graded.
